  • Town Assessor - Boxborough is seeking qualified applicants for full-time Assessor. The Assessor is responsible for technical, administrative and supervisory work related to the valuation of all property in town; conducting property inspections, responding to taxpayer inquiries, preparing financial reports and analysis, submitting required forms to DOR for certification of values and tax rate; maintaining Patriot Properties database of approximately 2,500 parcels, 88 % of which are residential. Approximately 75% of the town’s valuation is attributable to residential property. Boxborough has a single Assessor who acts as a Board of one. FY 2019 is a revaluation year for Boxborough.

  • UPDATED Inspector of Buildings/Code Administration Officer - Boxborough is seeking an Inspector of Buildings/Code Administration Officer. This 40 hour per week position is responsible for administering and ensuring compliance with the state building and related codes and the town’s zoning bylaw and other applicable laws, bylaws, codes or regulations; serving as the town’s code administration officer; developing and overseeing facility maintenance program; supervising support staff and wire and gas & plumbing inspectors. The position is also responsible for oversight of facilities management across the town facilities (six buildings, not school, which is part of the Acton-Boxborough Regional District). Prepares and administers annual operating budget for the building department, reviews and makes recommendations regarding fees; communicates regulations and program policies and procedures to staff, departmental customers, and the general public; explains, interprets and provides guidance regarding all applicable codes to property owners, architects, engineers, contractors, developers and other interested parties. Coordinates plan reviews, inspections and enforcement actions. Works with land use boards and Town Planner to regularly review status of permits. Works with town department heads to develop and oversee maintenance plans and actions for town buildings and formulate capital improvement plans for town facilities.

  • Treasurer/Tax Collector - Boxborough is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Treasurer/Tax Collector. The Treasurer/Tax Collector is responsible for the receipt, disbursement, investment, and custody of all municipal funds, managing the Town's debt service including the issuance of bonds, the custody of tax title properites and collection of money due to the Town. Serves as the Town's cash manager and is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of all monthly revenues, banc accounts, and the Treasurer's cashbook. The Treasurer/Tax Collector serves as a member of the Town's finance team to assure compliance with federal/state law and regulation governing municipal finance and to develop and maintain appropraite levels of internal control to safeguard the financial assets of the Town. The position is also responsible for payroll and administration of retirement and benefit programs.

  • Van Driver - Boxborough’s Council on Aging is seeking to hire a van driver to operate a ten-passenger van with wheelchair lift, which provides transportation for persons 60 years or older and/or with a disability. This is a part-time position, approximately 19.5 hours/week. Drivers must have a clean driving record, and must undergo training by Massachusetts Regional Transit Authority (MART); must pass a CORI. Successful candidate will receive ongoing training and must submit to random drug testing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. $14.46/hour. Position will remain open until filled.   • Videographer - High School students and Adults with audio/video experience who are willing to be trained to work on an as-needed basis for BXB-TV, our government channel broadcast provider are being sought.
