We are happy to announce the addition of a new media borrowing resource - hoopla. Instantly stream movies and music, borrow books and audiobooks without having to wait. The service is currently available only to Boxborough patrons.

 

 

Magazines

Thanks to the generous support of the Sargent Memorial Library Foundation, our library patrons have access to the digital versions of 50 popular press magazines.

With your library account, you can check out magazines from the library's Zinio collection and read them on a Web browser online, or download them and read them offline on your mobile device. You can check out as many issues as you want from titles including Highlights, ESPN, Better Home and Gardens, National Geographic, and Forbes. Music

Thanks to the generous support of the Sargent Memorial Library Foundation, you can download music (to keep) through the library. The Sargent Memorial Library is proud to partner with Freegal Music, a downloadable music service that gives you access to about 3 million songs in MP3 format, including Sony Music’s catalog of artists. Boxborough Library card holders can download up to 3 songs per week that can be played on a variety of devices. eBooks and eAudiobooks

Sarent Memorial Library patrons are able to borrow and download eBooks from many different sources.

Through C/W MARS Library Network

As a member of the CW/MARS library consortium, our library patrons can access  digital contents from OverDrive, the leading digital distrubutor of eBooks, audiobooks, music, and videos. From the newest best seller to timeless classics, television series to new feature films. You can borrow and download these materials and enjoy them on your phone, Kindle, iPad, or other tablets and e-readers.

The Commonwealth eBook Collections

Commonwealth eBook collection provides Massachusetts residents access to a wide range of digital content for free. There are currently two sets of collections available through the collections:

Look for bestsellers in fiction and nonfiction at Axis 360 from the book distributor Baker & Taylor. To access the collection, download the app for your device from the Common Wealth eBook App Zone. BiblioBoard is an online library featuring digital collections of books, images, articles, audio and video from leading publishers and archives around the world. These materials are curated by subject and accessible from anywhere. Explore anything from a collection of the Dummies series to graphic novel publishers Dark Horse and Valiant, as well as children's stories, silent films, historical texts, primary sources and more! Visit the site to create an account or the download the App for your Kindle, Androide or Apple devices.

Ebook Library (EBL) is a web-based ebook library with a catalogue of 740 thousand research and academic ebooks from leading publishers, including most university presses. With EBL, multiple users can borrow the same title at the same time, and read it on or offline. Login to EBL by selecting C/W MARS as your library institution.

Sargent Memorial Library Foundation Sponsored

Freading, from LibraryIdeas, has over 30,000 titles from hundreds of internationally known publishers with more being added each day. Freading e-books are available with simultaneous access so an unlimited number of library customers may download a Freading e-book title at the same time. TumbleBookLibrary (for grades K-4) is an online collection of animated, talking picture books aimed to teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. The features of this enriched online environment allow kids to tailor their experience to their reading level, whether reading along or reading independently. Kids will enjoy these books from renowned authors including Robert Munsch, David Small, Harriet Ziefert, and Kate DiCamillo. In addition to classic fairy tales, young readers will also find stories with popular characters like Franklin, Caillou, and Biscuit. This is an online collection that can be accessed through a web browser anywhere with an internet connection.

TumbleBookCloud junior (for grades 3-6) is an online collection of read-alongs, ebooks, graphic novels, audio books, and educational videos for older elementary students ready to transition from TumbleBookLibrary. Log in from any device with a web browser and an internet connection to access your favorite books.
