Welcome to the Graveyard! A presentation on local cemeteries.

Gavestone girls presentation on local cemeteries. Wednesday, April 11, 7pm

Cemetery educators, The Gravestone Girls, whose mission is to “Keep Our Dead Alive”, will be presenting a virtual tour, called “Welcome to the Graveyard”. The tour takes us from colonial burial grounds, through the rural cemetery movement of the 19th century and into 21st century locations with emphasis on Boxborough’s cemeteries. This popular program has been given around the New England area by the Gravestone Girls, and will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 7pm at the Sargent Memorial Library.   The Gravestone Girls teach about the art, symbolism, and history of the living history museums located on main streets and backyards of New England.  Almost everyone is interested in these peaceful and beautiful spaces, but may be hesitant to say so to others. This presentation lets you know you're not the only one.

Everyone is welcome to this program which is sponsored by the Whitcomb House Trust fund.
