The Boxborough Building Committee has recommended that new public safety facilities for Boxborough be constructed on the town-owned parcel at 72 Stow Road. After a lengthy evaluation of alternative locations, this site emerged as the best option for the town. The next step in our due diligence is to conduct a feasibility study on the constraints of the site to determine what is possible for the construction of town public safety facilities.
The Town Administrator has contracted with Pare Corporation, civil engineers, to conduct the geotechnical evaluations. The Boxborough DPW will be providing backhoe services for this work which will be supervised by Pare. The site work will take a few days and we expect to commence before the end of January.
The results of the geotechnical work will be used to prepare a site feasibility report in time for the 2021 Annual Town Meeting.
The Building Committee will also hold public forums to gather resident input.
Future progress reports will be posted at on the Boxborough Building Committee page.
