Local food resources during COVID-19

This page lists local resources for residents experiencing food insecurity during COVID-19.

  • GROCERY SHOPPING OR MEDICATION PICK-UP
    • The UCC Boxborough Community Support & Connection Team can match you with a volunteer who can help with non-urgent grocery pick up and other small errands fill out the request form found HERE or leave a message at the church for more information: 978-263-7387.
    • Acton-Boxborough Neighbor Brigade volunteers are available for non-urgent grocery pick up assistance. Place your request online HERE or leave a message on the COA Outreach line for help: 978-264-1734.
    • If your grocery store does not have any delivery slots available, third-party services such as Instacart and Shipt may have more availability.
    • Imperfect Foods has local delivery options and a mission to reduce food waste.

 

 

  • WIC (Women, Infants, & Children program) program 
    • Food benefits for households with pregnant and post-partum individuals and children under age 5
    • APPLY ONLINE
    • Income limits: WIC eligibility criteria
    • WIC Office visit requirements are waived at this time.

 

  • Acton-Boxborough Regional School District: 36 Charter Rd, Acton
    • AS OF JUNE 1. 2020: Bagged breakfast & lunches available for pick up at the Hayward Road entrance to the high school (near the gazebo) Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays 11:30am to 1pm. Each bag will include 2 days of breakfasts and lunches. Bagged meals are available to any resident regardless of age or student status.
    • If you are unable to leave your home to pick a bagged meal, contact the Acton-Boxborough Neighbor Brigade to a request volunteer delivery. Include your first and last name, address, phone number, and the number of people in your home that need a meal:

    • Apply for Free & Reduced Lunch: If your income has changed your children may now be eligible for the Free & Reduced Lunch program. Families will receive funds on an EBT card while school is not in session. 
      • If you receive SNAP or apply for SNAP benefits your information will be automatically forwarded to the school district Free & Reduced Lunch program. If you are not eligible for SNAP then you may apply for the school district Free & Reduced Lunch program HERE.

 

  • Acton-Boxborough Food Pantry: 235 Summer Rd, Boxborough; phone: 978-635-9295
    • Modified food distribution services: Wednesdays 10am-7pm, Thursdays 9:30am-11:30am.
    • Please stay in your vehicle, a volunteer will bring groceries to you.
    • For information or to request volunteer delivery contact the food pantry. 

 

  • Open Table: 33 Main St, Maynard; Phone: 978-369-2275
    • Drive-thru food pantry hours: Tues 1p-6:30pm and Thursday 1pm-4:30pm.
    • New clients: Tuesdays 5:30p-6:30p, Thursdays 3:30p-4:30p

  • Mt. Calvary Community Supper: 472 Massachusetts Ave, Acton; Phone: 978-263-5156
    • Wednesdays 5p-6p, drive-thru line to pick up weekly dinner.
