EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER

  • Dispatcher (Full-Time) - The Town is currently seeking experienced communications professionals who have a vision for the future of public safety and desire an active role in our commitment to continuous improvement and advancement of the services we provide.  Our dedication to staff development, technology advancements and constant evaluation of procedures demands that we recruit highly motivated professionals with strong interpersonal and communications skills, able to multi task, and excel in stressful situations. We offer an ideal scheduling practice with 4-days on, 2-days off. Other benefits include 75% employer funded health insurance, education incentives, clothing allowances, shift differential, plenty of training and overtime opportunities. This is a union position with a salary range of $44,996 to $50,801 (DOQE) with pension benefits under Middlesex County Retirement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police, fire and EMS and other related duties. The ideal applicant must be able to work any the shifts that cover 24/7 needs of the Town and will have experience in the communication field and hold a current 911 telecommunicator certification. Knowledge of IMC computer aided dispatch is a plus.

TOWN HALL:

  • Department Assistant, Inspectional Services/Board of Health - The Town is seeking a qualified individual with excellent customer service, computer and organizational skills to join the Town Hall Team. This position provides administrative support to Inspectional Services, the Board of Health and other general governmental functions. Duties include preparation of minutes, processing permit applications, and correspondence, handling public inquiries, processing invoices, answering phones, database management, maintaining files, compiling and editing submissions for the annual town report. Position is 35 hour per week, starting at $21.44 per hour with benefits.   • Recording Secretary Openings (Part-time/Intermittent/Fee Based) - The Town is seeking qualified individuals to provide part-time clerical support to several of the Town’s Boards/Committees on an intermittent (per meeting) basis. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, numerate and attentive to details, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. A High School Graduate with three years administrative support experience; prior experience in producing meeting minutes preferred.  Job Description has been posted with this position advertisement on the Town’s website. Responsibilities include attending Town Board/Committee meetings, generating meeting minutes (which serve as the official record of the meeting), working with the Committee/Board Chairpersons to develop meeting schedules and agendas and ensure meeting agendas are submitted in a timely manner to the Town Clerk consistent with the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. Availability during the evening to prepare materials, attend the meetings of these Boards/Committees a must, in order to prepare the necessary meeting minutes. These evening meetings typically last two or more hours. Currently, the Town is looking to provide clerical support to Boxborough’s Leadership Forum, Finance Committee, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. These responsibilities include time to prepare, edit and post both meeting agendas and requisite minutes. This is an Intermittent position on a $125.00 per meeting fee base.   • Videographer - High School students and Adults with audio/video experience who are willing to be trained to work on an as-needed basis for BXB-TV, our government channel broadcast provider are being sought. Candidates would assist with the filming of various Town-related meetings and events.
