Further Details: Henry David Thoreau visited Boxborough twice in November 1860. He was particularly impressed by Inches Woods, an area he called a "noble stand of oak wood" and doubted "if there is a finer one in Massachusetts."
While Inches Woods no longer exists, Henry Thoreau is still with us! Return to 1860 as Mr. Thoreau (portrayed by historian Richard Smith) leads a walk over what was once Inches Woods. During the walk there will be plenty of time for conversation with Mr. Thoreau. This Living History event is appropriate for all ages.
