The Boxborough Water Resources Committee (WRC) guides the Town in protecting its water resources and meeting its long-term water supply needs. It holds regular meetings and welcomes input from others. It collects and analyzes water data, evaluates water supply needs and potential threats, makes recommendations to Town boards and officials, and the public regarding sound water management, and coordinates with other stakeholders. It may conduct engineering studies, report the results, participate in negotiations on behalf of the Town, and hire outside experts to help meet its goals. The WRC is consistent with Boxborough 2030, the Town’s master plan, and it acts in accordance with the goals of its charter (PDF).
The Boxborough Water Resources Committee (WRC) received a Technical Assistance Program (TAP) grant from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC). The deliverables of this project are an interactive water portal that is updated when new water quality data becomes available, and a StoryMap that is an informational guide about Boxborough's water resources. To view the Water Portal or StoryMap in a new tab, select the red underlined titles, "Boxborough's Water Portal" and "Boxborough's Water Story".
